Something is wrong with my eyes
Recommended department — Ophthalmology
When to go straight to the emergency room
- Sudden loss of vision or a curtain across your sight
- Flashes of light with many new floaters (possible retinal problem)
- A chemical in the eye (rinse under running water and go to an emergency room immediately)
If you have any of the symptoms above, call 119 or go to the nearest emergency room.
What should I do?
If your eyes are red, painful or your vision is blurred, go to ophthalmology. Conjunctivitis, styes and dry eye are all treated at a neighborhood eye clinic.
If your eyes hurt while wearing contact lenses, take them out immediately, and see an eye doctor if the pain continues.
